Am I crazy?
Or do they look a lot alike?
Wah.
Just drove all the way to the hardware store to get some super expensive ($8) specialized bulbs to replace the ones that went out in my bathroom. Somehow managed to break one of them as I was putting it in.
Whatever, at least it is not pitch black in my bathroom anymore. Although I feel like the landlord will be all “wtf?” about it when we move out in the fall.
Weather.com, Stop Lying!
Seriously. I am getting annoyed. Every hour you move back your prediction of rain another hour, when I can look outside and see the blazing sun. This whole week you’ve predicted storms every day and none have materialized. Earlier you even tried to tell me it *was* raining when I could see it was not. It is not going to storm today. Stop messing with me!
I don’t know exactly why this...

The other reaction I have to this is “so what?” So what if race was a factor in Obama’s admission to these high-powered schools? That does not negate his accomplishments. Getting in is one thing, but...
Also, Current Manicure
Katy Perry for OPI Teenage Dream under Black Shatter - I forgot to shake the shatter before I put it on the first time, so I had to do two coats and ended up with a mostly black manicure with little fissures of glitter.
Omg omg so excited

What is up with the weather forecast?
The past couple of days it has said it was going to rain and warned of “severe weather” and yet … nothing. On this advice I did not water my plants, and I’m sure they’re pretty sad now because of it.
Apparently the storm is supposed to materialize tomorrow morning, but I’m not holding my breath.
I did some good things today
Bought tons of veggies for the bunnies.
Worked out for the first time in months.
Had lunch with a good friend.
Frankenstein!
Just got home (about 45 min ago) from seeing Frankenstein with Gertymac!
I did like it a lot - we ended up seeing the version with Johnny Lee Miller as the Monster. I thought he did a great job and the production was fantastic.
I have mixed feelings about the play itself though. I think it brings up a lot of uncomfortable questions about agency - which I am ok with - but seems to lead you to a...

How is it
that going from 19 to 18% aluminum deodorant makes me sweat like a pig?
Goddamnit
I just paid $5 for an ounce of olive oil.*
I bought an earwax removal kit from Kroger (I know, I am gross) and instead of having the fancy softening stuff in it that I was expecting, it has olive oil. Which may work just as well, I suppose, but I have a liter of it in my kitchen already. Damn.
*I also got a plastic irrigator, so I guess it’s not a total loss.
Did you know?
There is a whole passage in Leviticus on what to do if you have mold in your house. I thought these kinds of obscurities were left to the Talmudic scholars, but apparently even God himself wants to make sure your building is up to code.

ZOINKS!!! Good to know. In college I was sooooooooo tempted to go for that Japanese-ion-straightening-whatever-shit (because I was still walking around like Chaka Khan done it and ran) but now I’m glad I stopped and thought “What if I hate my hair even more later???”
I guess I’ll continue to let my curly hair do what...

Yes! I hope this means that I am recovering from the debilitating effects of grad exams + my bitchy sorority girl project group.
I am even going to wear a dress today! And makeup! Not that this is atypical for me generally, but considering the past couple of weeks …

Oh, god. I thought that we were over the gratuitous sex (a la the Tudors) but I guess not. I’m not a total prude, but I love historical drama and this is just random sex that has nothing to do with the plotline, involving characters we’ll never see again. I don’t know why but this bothers me.
